James LoGerfo joined BOVARO Partners in September 2004, and is also the Founder and Principal of Vortex Energy LLC, a boutique research and consulting firm focused on publishing Wall Street quality industry research and providing strategic advisory services to energy & environmental technology companies. Prior to forming Vortex, Mr. LoGerfo spent six years on Wall Street, most recently at Bank of America, where he led the formation of a highly successful energy technology banking and research team. In the annual Institutional Investor surveys and elsewhere, Mr. LoGerfo was recognized as a top energy tech research analyst. During his tenure at Bank of America, he helped to originate and close seven private and public equity and M&A transactions in energy technology worth over $650 million. Before joining Bank of America, Mr. LoGerfo gained experience as a public and private equity investor in positions at the General Motors Pension Fund and Newbrook Capital.

Mr. LoGerfo is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He graduated from the University of Washington, Phi Beta Kappa cum laude with distinction and received a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University.
