Peter K. Moran Special Partner
Mr. Moran is a private investor. He has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on coal production in the Appalachian Basin. Mr. Moran was the President, Chief Executive Officer and major shareholder of Princess Beverley Coal Company, a bituminous coal production company based in Charleston, WV. Mr. Moran built Princess Beverley from an 8 employee start-up business producing 150,000 tons of coal per year, to 80 employees producing 2.5 million tons per year. From 1993 until 1999, Princess Beverley Coal Company led the state of West Virginia in surface mine productivity as measured by tons of coal produced per man-hour and was featured on the cover of Coal Age magazine in July of 1996 with an article about the Company’s innovative production methods and records. Princess Beverley Coal Company was sold in 1999.
Subsequent to Princess Beverley Coal Company’s sale, Mr. Moran has served as a consultant to several major U.S. coal producers.
Mr. Moran served as a Sergeant, 18th Corps of Engineers, in Vietnam from July 1965 until September 1968. He has an Associates Degree in Civil and Highway Engineering from Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA.
