Robert S. Bowers, II Partner
Robert S. Bowers, II is a founding partner of BOVARO Partners, LLC. Throughout Mr. Bowers’ career, he has directed his efforts at helping small and mid-sized companies. As an investment banker, Mr. Bowers has worked on over $4 billion of public financings and roughly $1 billion of mergers and acquisitions, primarily in the shipping and oilfield service industries. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Bowers worked as a commercial banker for Banque Paribas and Manufacturers Hanover Trust. During his time as a lender, Mr. Bowers arranged debt facilities for leveraged buyouts, acquisitions and general corporate purposes. Mr. Bowers was responsible for loan portfolios in excess of $1 billion with companies in the consumer product, retail, specialty chemical, petroleum product, midstream energy, inter and intra-state pipeline, and oil and gas exploration and production industries. Prior to founding BOVARO Partners, Mr. Bowers was a Senior Vice President at Jefferies & Company, Inc.
Prior to joining Jefferies & Co., Mr. Bowers was a Vice President in Schroder & Co.’s Energy Investment Banking department.
Mr. Bowers has also worked for industrial services and manufacturing companies in finance, corporate development and marketing positions. In 1983, Mr. Bowers worked for Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Company as a “rough neck” on the company’s drilling rigs in Western Oklahoma and in the Gulf of Mexico. After his hands on training, learning the equipment and drilling processes, Mr. Bowers marketed drilling rigs and drilling services. Later, in 1991, Mr. Bowers worked for Hanover Compressor Company, which had just completed a “roll-up” of five smaller regional compressor companies. With a company in its infancy and a small staff, Mr. Bowers arranged financing, analyzed prospective acquisitions and assisted with the planning and budgeting process.
Mr. Bowers received an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Brown University.
