Theodore Atwood
Special Partner

Ted Atwood joined BOVARO Partners as a Special Partner in 2004 and leads the firm’s efforts in developing clean energy technology projects for both the government and private sectors. Ted has over thirty years experience in the gas and energy technology industries, and has served in several senior positions with the U.S. Department of Energy, including Director of Pacific Rim Programs and Director of Gassification for Clean Coal Programs. Ted has also worked as a chemical engineer for W.R. Grace.

Currently, Ted serves as a Vice President of Global Greenlife Institute and is responsible for development of projects and programs that advance the use of clean energy technology in Asia and Europe. Ted is also currently serving as a consultant to the Italian government for biomass technologies. In that capacity he has authored two extensive reports on the current status of U.S. and European technologies for biomass and combined biomass and fossil fuel utilization. Ted also serves as a consultant to the Royal Netherlands Embassy (RNE) in China for the development of a program for biomass stove and gasification technologies for China, and as a consultant for RNE and the Government of Mongolia on the development and financing of clean production including biomass to energy projects. Ted holds an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of California, and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Maryland.
